How we use AI

Bloom aims to be among the most effective uses of AI in education — measured by learning outcomes, not by how much of the day is spent conversing with a model.

Our approach does not discard proven methods in favor of “AI school.” AI works within research-backed learning methods to personalized learning, improved feedback, optimize sequencing, tutor, and support parental and teacher involvement.

Bloom uses AI to… What remains fixed
Guide and tutor during practice Mastery rules and readiness gates
Provide faster, clearer formative feedback What “proficient” means on a demonstration
Customize Learning Units and areas of focus to your child’s personal needs Released curriculum, proficiency criteria, and mastery
Personalize explanations, examples, and emphasis Our knowledge graph, prerequisites, and what counts as mastery
Help parents and teachers interpret progress and contribute The underlying record of what was practiced and demonstrated
  • Declare mastery without Bloom’s evidence rules
  • Unlock next steps prematurely
  • Replace parents or teacher as partners in education (but it does make your role easier!)
  • Substitute for the knowledge graph and structured learning
  • Fabricate facts, ideas, and falsehoods
  • Carry agendas that distract from learning and virtue

AI is most useful when wrapped in a sound, evidence-based system with deterministic controls. The Bloom method does this through our Adaptive Mastery System, effectively incorporating AI to personalized but not replace proven education methods.See Evidence & research.

Student-facing AI remains scoped to learning goals only, with guardrails to avoid drift and complete visibility for parents and teacheres. Customize your family’s AI controls and guardrails on top of our stringent configuration for an additional layer of confidence, even when Bloom is used in the classroom.
